Halloween in Exeter is Saturday 31 October. Darts Farm Pumpkin Fest is £5, Crealy Spook-Fest from £20, plus priory ghost hunts and a free Red Coat ghost walk.
Halloween 2026 falls on Saturday 31 October, the Saturday at the end of Devon’s half-term week. Exeter’s Halloween season starts well before that: the two big pumpkin events open on Saturday 10 October, and the city’s oldest building runs evening ghost hunts from the 16th.
The quick answer

Pumpkin Fest at Darts Farm
Darts Farm, just outside Topsham, runs Pumpkin Fest on 10-11, 17-18 and 24-25 October, then every day of half term from Monday 26 to Saturday 31 October. It opens 10am to 4.30pm, and the last entry is 3pm. The farm says it has “tens of thousands of pumpkins”, plus photo spots, magic shows, marshmallow toasting, face painting, live music and street food.
- Tickets: £5 for adults and children alike. Under-1s go free.
- Booking: the slot you book is your arrival time, and you can stay as long as you like.
- What the ticket does not cover: a pumpkin. Darts Farm also says some activities cost extra on the day.
- Card only. Parking is free and dogs on leads are welcome.

Spook-Fest at Crealy
Crealy’s Halloween event runs on 10-11 and 17-18 October and then every day from 24 to 31 October, 10am to 5pm. Your ticket includes three live scare mazes, all of the park’s 60-plus rides, and a free pumpkin for every child. The mazes are the Creakier Hotel, the Scarecrow Scare Maze and the gentler Buddy’s Spook Maze. There is also a Halloween Sooty Show, a magic and illusion show, and Buddy’s Trick or Treat for under-10s.
- Tickets: from £20 online or £25 on the gate. Children under 92cm go free, and annual pass holders get in free (Silver members at weekends only).
- Optional extra: the Trick or Sweet trail, five stops from the Mad Scientist Lab to the Vampire’s Lair with sweets along the way, is £6.95 added at the end of your booking (£5 for pass holders). Buddy’s Trick or Treat Doors is included in the ticket.
- After 3pm: Pirates’ Plummet runs blindfolded, and the ROTOR ride has an “Extreme Hour” with double inversions.
- Come back free: Crealy says every Spook-Fest visit can return for nothing on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November.
Crealy does not say which mazes suit which ages, so ask at the gate if you have young children with you. (Crealy, Halloween Spook-Fest)
Ghost hunts at St Nicholas Priory
An Audience with a Ghost Hunter fills St Nicholas Priory, Exeter’s oldest building, off Fore Street. Wandering Tiger’s interactive show casts the audience as investigators alongside “ghost hunter Dr Robin Knapman”. The priory’s calendar has it on Friday 16, Saturday 17, Thursday 22, Friday 23, Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October, at 6.30pm (until 8pm) and 8.30pm (until 10pm). Doors open at 6.15pm for the early show.
The priory’s page does not give a price. Tickets are sold through Wandering Tiger’s TicketSource page, and the priory warns they are limited. There is no wheelchair access to the upstairs rooms. The nearest car park is Mary Arches Street, five minutes’ walk away (St Nicholas Priory).
The priory has two more events that suit the season:
- “It Could Be Witches”: witch marks and protection magic in medieval England, a talk by F. Crawford on the marks found in the priory itself. Friday 9 October, 6.30pm (doors 6pm), £10 with drinks (St Nicholas Priory).
- Double Double Toil and Trouble: Herbology Lesson, for children with an adult, in the medieval kitchen. Cloaks are provided and witch or wizard costumes are encouraged. Friday 30 October, 12pm to 1.15pm; arrive 15 minutes early. It is booked through Lightbear Lane’s TicketSource page (St Nicholas Priory).
Halloween night: a free ghost walk
Exeter’s volunteer Red Coat Guides run a special Ghosts and Legends Halloween Tour on Saturday 31 October, starting at 6pm and 6.15pm from the Hooker Statue on Cathedral Green. It is free and suitable for all ages, but online booking is essential. You do not need to collect a ticket, because the guide has your booking (Exeter Corn Exchange box office, Halloween Tour).
If you cannot get a place, the regular Ghosts and Legends walk runs every Tuesday at 7pm all winter (1 October to 31 March), lasts about 90 minutes and needs no booking. That makes 27 October, in half-term week, the last one before Halloween (Exeter’s Red Coat Guided Tours).
Room on the Broom at Haldon Forest
Forestry England’s Room on the Broom trail at Haldon Forest Park, Bullers Hill, Kennford (EX6 7XR), adds a Halloween hunt throughout October: find the cauldrons along the trail, solve the clues for a crossword and get a sticker. The Halloween leaflet is £1.50, or free with a £4 trail pack from the Info Pod. The trail is 2.5km, surfaced and mostly flat, and it is aimed at children aged 3 to 9 (Forestry England, Room on the Broom).
For grown-ups
- Dolly’s Film Club presents Rocky Horror Picture Show, Exeter Phoenix, Gandy Street. An “auditorium takeover” screening on Monday 26 October, 7.30pm. £11, or £9 for members, students and under 25s (Exeter Phoenix).
- Spork! Poetry Halloween Special, Exeter Phoenix, with the annual “Dead Poets Slam”. Friday 30 October, 7pm to 9pm. Pay what you can from £8 to £16; students and under 25s £6 (Exeter Phoenix).
Still to be confirmed
- Exeter’s Underground Passages. In 2023 the council ran a Halloween hunt for “spooky creatures hiding in the dark” in the passages (Exeter City Council, October 2023). Its passages pages, last updated 22 September 2026, list nothing for Halloween this year. Normal tours, prices and the under-5s rule are on our October half term page. We will check again before half term.
- RAMM. In 2023 the museum ran a torchlit “RAMM at night” evening in half term (same council release). For 2026 its October programme is fungi-themed, and it lists no Halloween event as of 3 October.
Getting there
Darts Farm (EX3 0QH) says its parking is free. Crealy (EX5 1DR) does not mention parking on its Spook-Fest page. For city-centre events, car park tariffs and the park and ride sites are on our parking in Exeter page, and road closures are on Exeter roadworks and travel.
The week after Halloween, both of the area’s big firework displays fall on Saturday 7 November: see Exeter fireworks 2026. For everything else on this month, see what’s on in Exeter.
